Solid performed by the Beazley Phillips Band (feat Melissa Allison) live 2006

Solid: Recorded live 2006 by the Beazley Phillips Band with my friend, Melissa Allison.

I came across this recording of "Solid" a few weeks ago.  This track was a rehearsal studio recording never intended for release, but it gave me a warm heart to hear my old friend singing with me again and I thought I'd post.​

​Melissa Allison and I shared a musical adventure and friendship that started in junior high school and continued right up to the time of her death.

She was a great friend, had a wonderful voice and was a talented performer. She was also the person who introduced me to Elton John.

Even after all these years, I miss her.

She was visiting me back in 2006 and joined my band in the rehearsal studio that we rented at Fabsounds in Wicker Park where we recorded several live tracks.

I wrote Solid a few years before we sang it together. The song ended up on my second album, Bring The Angels Down, but I've always loved the version we recorded that Saturday afternoon.
