Rocketman Costume Build:

Above: The costume before I created the boots
First, I should say that this not a "How To" page, I never created anything remotely like this before, so as an amateur costumer, I took my best guesses at how to create the components for this costume and I don't necesarily recommend my approach.  I've had several professional costumers make suggestions on how I could have created a better build, especially for the helmet, but all I can say is that I did my best and learn from my mistakes and I'm posting this step-by-step for anyone who might learn from my adventures.
Rule #1: Time is short, so I source as much as possible.
I ordered a relatively inexpensive Rocketman Halloween costume.
I ordered the wings from a vendor on Etsy.
The horned cap reminded me of a kids pajamas so I immediately started planning how to put my cosplay skills to work and create a horned helmet.
I gathered my source photos and used a template that I found on Etsy for a generic helmet pattern. These cosplay designers really know their craft and they just make it look so easy in their YouTube tutorials.  I used craft foam as the material.  It took me four attempts before I was able to create a helmet that was even passable and the right size.  I purchased a headdress base from Amazon that I used on the inside of the craft foam helmet that would rest against my head.
The  horns were next.  Again, I used craft foam and I created a shape in aluminum foil from which I based the pattern.  The horns were really tricky, they weren't Maleficent's horns, fantasy creatures or steer horns, but some unique shape that I did my best to create.  It took a lot of tries before I even came close.  I used Worbla to shape a base for the horns that I would later attach to the helmet.
